Director’s Commentary
Going crazy that I hadn’t film much in the summer of 2005, I called some friends and shot this short movie. Missing Nightmare intended to be a bonus feature for a movie, Something’s Missing, that I had written and was in the process of casting for it. Sadly, during that year I didn’t get the movie off the ground because I never could find a girl to play as a character known as Glory and some of the characters. I did find a few great locations though.
For this short movie, I had a script that I wrote not too long before actually filming it. However, I had no shot list. I winged all of the camera shots on the spot. Marek had a great idea of giving the characters the camera to see things from their view, which worked out great. We worked out it all day long. We didn’t wrap up until late at night.
The kiss at the end of the short was actually a blooper. It was supposed to end with the Detective just chocking for air, but I thought the kiss made it more twisted.
I loved the lighting. It was the first time I got to use my new light kit. All and all, this came out pretty good. Watch the movie for yourself. There are bloopers that are played during the credits, which make this even more worth watching.
