Conspiracy of Awesome

Tuesday night I went to Mid Town Deli for Open Mic Night again to watch cOnspiracy of Angels perform again. This time I took pictures with my cellphone camera.

Also, here’s guy playing a kazoo. He was pretty good too.

As I said before, these were taken from my cellphone, so the quality is bad. I tried to get some friends to come along this time, but no one could come. Yeah, so the singer is Jessie. She’s friend of mine and you should go see them and everyone else that plays.

While I was at Mid Town Deli, I ran into an old film friend from college, Clark. It was great catching up him. He now owns a movie production studio, which I plan to visit sometime next week. Fun stuff.

I’m also totally tempted to buy every album by Metric. I did get the free song, Help I’m Alive (Acoustic), from their MySpace page.

On Monday I discovered that I can use Pandora, which I have on my iPod Touch, at work at Penn, using the mall’s wi-fi. It drains my battery, but it played smoothy. I didn’t think the wi-fi would be fast enough to keep up with the music. This is what got me into Metric.

I sent my novel, The Crashing of Heaven and Hell, to an online friend for him to edit. Current Word Count: 28,319.

Charmaine is longer going to be a part of Uncovering Oklahoma. This threw a huge monkey wrench in my plans for the show. I’m still working on pulling it out and getting the show back on track. We are so behind on episodes. Don’t panic, I will pull the wrench out and use it to build a sentry.

Okay, I think I covered everything worth talking about. I did come up with an awesome idea for a club while I was out jogging at Lake Hafner on Monday. It’s too awesome to share here. You will just have to wait until I’m rich and powerful enough to pull it off. Peace!

28,151 Words

As I said in my recent Facebook status update, I’ve finished going through an edit of my novel, The Crashing of Heaven and Hell, today. The word count stands at 28,151 words. I’m letting it set a bit and then I’m going to go through it and try to describe things better before sending it off for editing.

I just got back from seeing cOnspiracy of Angels perform live at Mid Town Deli as part of an open mic night along with some solo artists. I know COA’s singer, so I wanted to come out and support them. It was a good, small crowd there, lots of positive energy. I met and networked with a bunch of people while I was there. I plan to go back again, next with friends.

Let’s see, if you haven’t heard, Episode 4 of Uncovering Oklahoma was released. Though, if you haven’t watched it, you may want to wait for the recut version. I felt this episode came out way too long, so I’ve been trying to meet up with Janee to do some voice work so we can use narration to speed up parts in the video. Though, feel free to enjoy the bloopers. I’m working on setting up a production meeting to lay out the show’s future.

Well, there you go for now.

Uncovering Oklahoma: Episode 3

»Posted by on Jul 7, 2009 in Adventures | Comments Off

Friday morning the third episode of Uncovering Oklahoma went live. The episode just features two places, MAWI and Rocktown, but it’s still 12 minutes long. There was supposed to be a third place, but the manager was never able to return my calls or e-mail. I guess we’ll try again another episode. Anyway, I’m really pleased with how the episode turned out, though I wish I could’ve thought of something to make the Rocktown interview a bit more interesting visually. I used up 3/4 of a tape just on Rocktown alone, which is the most I’ve used on a single place so far. I sent an e-mail to one of my old college professors for his thoughts on the show. I have yet to hear back. It was the weekend of July 4th. Besides putting up the third episode, I did a bunch of little updates throughout the site because now I’m really going to try and get the word out. If you know someone young in the Oklahoma area, please tell them about Uncovering Oklahoma.

As for episode four, You’re So Sweet, I’m still trying to get a hold of some places for interviews. I’ve already filmed Cuppies & Joe with Janee (her first time hosting) that we did back on Tuesday, June 16. I’m going to edit that segment tomorrow so I can show it to her for Thursday when we hopefully have another place to film. There’s a chocolate factory down in Paul’s Valley that I’ve been trying to set up an interview with, but I’m still waiting to hear back from them.

Well, there’s your inside scoop. I’m also brain storming ideas for things to do on the site. One feature I have in mind is Date Guide where where we (the whole crew) rate each place on how good it’s for a date.
