It’s time to play catch up again!
The first half of April involved me preparing for the One Year of Uncovering Oklahoma Party. Back on April 15, 2009 was the first day Ali and I filmed for my travel series, Uncovering Oklahoma. On April 15, 2010 we hosted a party at Put A Cork In It (where we did our first interview). Everyone that showed had a great a time. However, I was really disappointed and hurt that more people didn’t show up.
On almost every Saturday evening in April (plus May 1) I recorded the performances at OKC Improv.
April 6: Released the interview with Villain: The Musicial. Included in the interview is a full scene from their show. Watch the video, if you know what’s good for you.
April 7: Release the interview with The Ones Your Mother Warned You About. The Ones is created by and starring Cristela Carrizales, Buck Vrazel, Clint Vrazel, and Raychel Winstead. Included in the interview is a full scene from their April 3 show.
April 15: The One Year of Uncovering Oklahoma Party. Check out the photos on Facebook.
April 16: My 26th Birthday! I watched the movie, Kick-Ass, while eating nachos for breakfast. I grabbed some food from Sonic afterwards for lunch. I had dinner with my parents at an Indian buffet. I took it pretty easy that day after being so busy from the party yesterday.
April 18: I interview Everybody And Their Dog after performing a show at OKC Improv. Included with the interview is a clip from their show on April 3.
April 20: Uncovering Oklahoma’s interview the all female improv troupe, the MiDolls, is released! The MiDolls explain what they’re all about and show a clip from their trailer trash show.
April 21: With my friend, Anthony, and his girlfriend, we went to the Arts Festival in Downtown Oklahoma City. There’s not much to talk about. I painted a small clay pot, which I gave as a gift for a friend. I didn’t take pictures here. I just went to have fun and we did have a good time.
April 25: I went to the Norman Music Festival. I met up with Whitney and Christy there. Ali soon joined us. I was there too long. Anthony showed up too and he took a few pictures of me there. I went home to do some work for Uncovering Oklahoma.
April 26: I release the OKC Improv interview thus the start of Comedy Around OKC episode. This video is special for several reasons. It features the brand new title credit sequence. The video has a slightly different style to it where the producers from OKC Improv introduce Uncovering Oklahoma and then it cuts to the title credits. The whole video itself is great because I went to OKC Improv several nights to record various shows for them and I ended up using footage from every show, so the whole piece is just impressive.
April 28: I published an article on Mother’s Day gift ideas for Uncovering Oklahoma here. I’m rather proud of it.
May 1: The Last OKC Improv Show for the season. Following the show, there was an after party, which I attended. Fun was obtained. I gave everyone there a DVD copy of the MiDoll’s first two shows as a party present.
May 4: My, what a horrible, horrible day. I woke up at about 2 am with a sudden urge to puke, which I did. I went back to bed, trying to rest but about 30 minutes later I threw up again. I tried to rest again, but I starting puking again and it started to come out the other end. At this point I figured I must be sick with food poisoning. I sent a text message to my boss letting her know that I would not be coming into work that day. Throughout that whole day I was throwing up every 30 minutes to an hour until about 4 pm. The only thing I managed to eat was a few crackers that my Dad brought over. I haven’t had food poisoning before. (At least in my adult life. I don’t know as a kid.) This experience left me weak for several days.

May 6: I filmed Twiprov perform their Iron Man 2 rap as party of a pre-show act for the midnight showing of Iron Man 2 at Harkins Theater. On May 11 Clint and Buck came to my place and help edited it. I did some editing on Sunday and Monday before hand. The video should be done and released on May 13, depending on the weather.
May 8: I went to the Carnality Ball’s fourth annual celebration, Pandora’s Box. I’ve never been to a Carnality Ball before. Even though I wondered around by myself, I had a good time. I ran into several friends there. I took a ton of pictures, which you can see some of them here on Facebook. I tend to feel uncomfortable May 8 was also Ali’s birthday. I had dinner with him and his friends up in Norman. We all did go to the Carnality Ball together, but they didn’t say too long as the group he was with didn’t feel comfortable there.
May 10: I hid in Penn Square Mall’s hallway from the storm while at work. Crazy day there though thankful everything turned out okay with no damage.
Well, that’s a rap! Okay, not a rap song per say, but the next post will be!
