My Place So Far
Using my sister’s camera, I took some quick pictures of how my apartment looks so far. It’s been about a month now since I’ve moved on and I still got some work to do to the place. Most of my stuff is unpacked, but I have some boxes in my bedroom closet of minor things that I need some book shelfs for them.

This is my living room taken back by my computer in the dinning area. White walls are white. I’m working on some paintings to put up along them.

My awesome couch. I got it for about $480, including tax. It normally goes for $800, but I got it for less as it is sightly damaged. There are some scuff marks on one of the sides and one of the back pillow needs some sowing done.

My current entertainment center. Back when this was in my bedroom, I used to have all of my action figures on it, but I don’t want to do that this time, so it’s just games and such now. I’m looking for a bookcase to put some of my old stuff. I also plan to get a new TV stand, one that would be better for a large HD TV.

My dinning room area, which has my parent’s love set that they loaned until I could get a couch. Of course, there’s my computer back in the corner. I would like to get a bigger desk and a bookcase next it to store more stuff. To left is a painting I finished. It’s a conversation painting to get people to talk about what all of the cloud people are doing up in the sky. There are a ton of little details, so a picture doesn’t do it any justice.

My kitchen. It’s small, but it works fine. I could use a bigger freezer since I like to buy a variety of food.

And now for my bedroom for sleeping and other activities. I got the bed set after completing a dangerous mission a few months back. Okay, I lied. I bought them at Target.

I got the bed headboard, dresser, dresser mirror, and night stand at retail furniture place, Corts, for like $475. Like the couch, there’s some minor scrapes, but it’s hardly noticeable. The most annoying thing about my apartment is in the corner where you see my laundry basket is where you can hear a loud water pipe whenever someone above me uses their water. I’m hoping to find a 5 foot tall bookcase to put in the corner and help muffle the sound.

My shower curtain I stole from tiny shop in Japan. Alright, I got it from Target as well. My bathroom is pretty small. It’s in a hallway next to my bedroom, which is nice that people don’t have to walk through my bedroom to get to the bathroom.

And a final picture of my living area from the kitchen. As you can see in front of the entrance door, there’s a closet. Worst location for a closet ever. It was so freakin’ hard to get my couch and even the love seat into my place.
Other than the water pipe noise (which I’m sort of used to), old windows, and the utility closet location, it’s a great place. The pictures don’t show it too well, but it’s pretty huge. I want to say it’s like 700 square feet. Let’s see, I have my own water heater, which takes up a good chuck of space in my bedroom closet, but hey I don’t have to share the hot water. Right now, I’m paying $475 a month. It’s cheap because it’s an older unit and hasn’t been remodeled. Overall, it’s better than any of my friends’ first place.
Anyway, that’s what my place looks like for now. I’ll take some pictures and maybe a movie of the place when I get more stuff worth showing off.

Today, I’m starting a new weekly feature: Legally Free Fridays. (Hopefully) every friday I’ll feature something that’s interesting, cool, helpful, or funny, and of course all of it will legally free.
This week’s feature is a free game, Secret Maryo Chronicles. Secret Maryo Chronicles is an Open Source two-dimensional platform game with a style designed similar to classic sidescroller games, namely the Mario series. The game is available for Mac OSX, Windows, and even Linux.

I just installed WordPress to help manage my web site. I’m in the process of converting the web site over to see if this is going to work for the site. A ton of stuff has happened since my last update, so check back later as I’ll start regular updates.
UPDATE:
Alright, let’s get this show on the road. It’s been months since I wrote about what’s happening in my life. During the months I had slow internet, I didn’t feel like updating either of my sites, so this post is going to be long. There was so many big moments too. On November 20th, I moved into my own place in Oklahoma City. It’s a one bedroom apartment with around 700 square feet that I’m playing $475 a month. There’s so much I say about the place, but I’ll be brief. It’s a nice place. It does have it’s flaws, but it’s better than any of my friends’ first place. The two most annoying features are in my bedroom I can hear whenever water is being used and second is that there’s a closet right in front of my living room entrance door, making it a bitch to move in large furniture. I’ll take some pictures of the place and show off all my new furniture.
On October 16 I went on what would be the first of several dates with Carol Anne. She was such an awesome girl. We were together for a little over a month when she sent me an e-mail dumping me. She basically wasn’t used to be in a relationship and decided she didn’t really need one. I tried to work things out with her, but she wouldn’t respond back to me. I had noticed on our last date and when I text messaged her later that week she seemed somewhat distant. There’s so much I say about all of the cool things we did, but I’ve been moving on and trying to meet new people. I’m still a bit hurt. I think what hurts the most was being dumped when I was starting to love her.
However, my sad story doesn’t even compare to my Mom’s as she developed breast cancer. She went to the Cancer Treatment Center of America up in Tulsa to get cured. Thankfully, the cancer was found and removed before it could spread. They did remove her left breast. She’s still going to go through chemotherapy to reduce the chance of it coming back in another form or place. This was supposed to start today, but with the icy roads, they pushed it back to the end of the month.
As you can tell, there’s been some big changes in my life. I’ll have to share more about them another time.

It’s been so long. So much time has passed. I’ve been holding off updating this site until I come up with a new layout. I haven’t worked much on a new design in awhile. I have an idea for a header that involves a painting that I want to paint. This would all be triggered once I move into my own place. I found an apartment that I’m interested in and meets most of the qualities I’m looking for in a place. I visited them yesterday. They had no open apartments and they had raised their rates. Though, they’re still better than a lot of other apartments at the $400ish price range. Blah. I’m really not in the mood to update, but I’m forcing myself to write something at least. I do plan to put up regular updates once the site has been revamped.

Here’s the run down real quick of what I’ve done. I went to traffic court. I have to return again in October with a clean record and the ticket will be off my record. I watched the Hellsing anime tv series. It was good. I saw The Happening. It was stupid. I’m playing Mass Effect. It’s huge. I got Ninja Gaiden 2. It’s ass kicking hard. I got My Brightest Diamond’s new album early. It’s enjoyable. I’m looking for a place still. I haven’t found anything in my price range. Parents got insurance on their house. We got a new retail person at work. Work is still looking grim. Had a store visit. It went well. I think that about covers everything.
Now for some matters I’m considering. Again, this is all stuff I’m still thinking about. I plan to split my personal site into two sites: one that’s a blog of my adventures and the other for projects. The latter would be my business venture. I have some great project ideas that could be profitable. There are a few things holding me back. The main one: I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing. Okay, that’s not entirely true. I need to get with some people and set out some goals and a course of action. I’m really not sure what else to say. I got a lot of ideas. I need to pick a few and run with them. I’ll let you guys know when I do decide things.
