Christmas
Gather around boys and girls for I have a tale to tell. The sun was bright making the day quite a delight. I hopped into my car, with presents to share, and sheets to wash. I headed north along Highway 77 to my parents’ house. Oh what joy, the construction on the route was nearly complete. All of the lanes were open and they bumped the speed limit up to 55 mph from 45. Though, from my car I saw something bizarre. Why it was a large mound of red dirt on the ground beside the road.
At least, that’s what I thought until it sought me. “Oh, damn,” I shouted as I slammed on the gas. It was a colossal red snake about the size of an 18-wheeler truck. The snake slithered onto the road, right behind me. At this point I’m blowing past the speed limit, going upwards to 100. In my rearview mirror, I caught a glace of a greenish Bigfoot creature seated on the big snake’s head. As it drew nearer it disappeared from my mirror.
Before I could come up with a plan, the snake began opening its mouth up wide as it slithered even closer. I turned my head around too what might become my new compound. But when I looked forward, I saw something unexpected flying towards. But whom do I see? Why it was Santa sporting some shades while one of his reindeer pulled his sleigh. Santa reached his big brown sack and out came large present. He threw it into the snake’s mouth as he flew south. The snake chomped down. After a beep, there were a heap of snake guts everywhere and the green creature was no where to be seen. I came to stop while Santa made a U-turn toward me.
“I was on my way to Bahamas and saw that I could help you from your dramas,” he told me.
“Thanks, Santa,” I replied.
“Well, you have merry Christmas,” he jousted. And off he went!
The rest of the day was rather okay. I got a griddle, candy, and some baking supplies from my parents. From my sister I got a $15 gift card to Game Stop, some Rubbermaid containers, and candy as well. As for what I got them, I got my parents some computer games and a set of jellies. I had gotten my Dad some nice sunglasses earlier in the year and told him it was an early Christmas present. For my sister and her boyfriend, I gave them a kitchen cart. For the dogs, I got them a package of treats. I really couldn’t think of any great gift this year as I’ve gotten them all useful things in the past. I was also not expecting much with my Mom fighting cancer.
After staying with my parents for a while, I headed back to my place and bought the Metal Gear Solid level pack for Little Big Planet. It is so much fun and worth buying as it’s only like $6.
Well guys, that was pretty much my Christmas day. Tomorrow is the start of insurance week at work as people rush in to use up their benefits. He’s to that going smoothly.
