Game Dreams

»Posted by on Mar 30, 2008 in Adventures | Comments Off

The past two nights, I’ve had dreams where I was in some sort of game that I had already played, so I knew which path take. They were very visual. In one, there was this bright colored alien ship room and I lifted up this panel that showed this weird train in a goo of faces. It was trippy.

Man, do I have a weird one to tell you. In this one dream, all sorts of random things were going on and somehow I brought a Mac Book Pro laptop for $1,000. I was in my room, pacing around. I was freaking out that I had spent so much money on a whim. All sorts of thoughts raced through my mind. I had bought it at Best Buy and I thought I could return it there, but then I thought that maybe they wouldn’t give me my money back, but instead would give me store credit since I had opened it. I figured I could use the credit to buy video games over time. Then I realized: this is a dream! Of course!

So, I woke up and got out of my bed. As I was heading towards the bathroom, sitting on my shelf next my computer was the laptop. “Oh, fuck, I wasn’t dreaming.” I freaked out. Then I realized that I’m still dreaming and that I’m just too tired to wake up (which I was). At that point, the dream proceeded to be totally random, scrambling my thoughts, until I woke for real.

Are you dreaming of some new You Laugh, You Lose stuff? Well, if you are, check out this week’s update while I just rant on about how I’ll pay off my car next month, go on a hot date with a hot, interesting blond chick, make SoaH more awesome, write awesome stories, and do other awesome things.

Logging Dreams

»Posted by on Mar 19, 2008 in Adventures | 0 comments

Just logging some dreams I’ve had. Last night I had two short dreams. The first one involved me being in front of my house with a yard full of scorpions. This punk guy throws a scorpion at me, but I avoided it. I ran after the guy, but I ended up getting some scorpions on myself. There was one of my foot that I shook off. Now, here’s the where it gets weird. There was another one on my back that a person swatted off with a newspaper. You want to guess who it was? It’s someone you know. No, guesses? It was Barack Obama. Yes, in my dream Barack Obama knocked off a scorpion on my back. Yeah… moving along now.

After that, I woke up, got comfortable again, and feel back asleep to have my next dream. I don’t remember much about this one. I was on top of a castle wall with a group of coworkers when this giant robot appeared. We ran in the other direction only to meet another flying robot. This robot scooped us up in a bucket. We could’ve escaped, but we decided to stay so we could be led the bad guy’s headquarters. That’s about it from that dream.

I’m just having all sorts of random dreams lately. For time, they all seemed very personal, but now they’re back to being random. I had some other dreams from nights ago, but nothing too interesting from them. Though, one I’m putting down in my story idea folder.

Nearly complete

»Posted by on Mar 14, 2008 in Adventures | Comments Off

My novella, The Crashing of Heaven and Hell is (nearly) complete. To celebrate, there was a lightning storm tonight. It’s all written out and I just finished up my big editing sweep through the book. It’s now at at point where I can share it with friends for feedback and proofreading. It counts at over 21,000 words and 115 pages and that’s not counting the bonus short story version (which I need to edit and put it in the book). Since it is nearly finished and the weather is starting to get warmer, I’ll start pushing to do Running Out of Lives soon. However, I think I may wait on that project since I might be moving out for realz this time. We’re having a person interested in buying the house coming to visit tomorrow. My parent’s aren’t getting their hopes up, but they have been getting the house fixed up regardless because they still plan to sell it in the spring.

As for my job, it seems to be getting rougher. It’s almost like we’re being set up for failure. I want to help them, but I also want to yell at everyone and point out their flaws that are hurting the store. I also seem to be the target of nitpicking lately, but I keep telling myself they do it because they know I’m the best and they want me to be even better. I need to work with everyone as well to help them perform even better as well.

Oh, I find this cool blog post: 20 (More) Incredibly Unconventional Hotel Rooms: Artistic Interior Designs from Around the World. I saved most of the images in my “interesting design ideas” folder for future reference. Go check it out for yourself while you can. I’m going to go play Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
