Christmas, 2007, and a hint of 2008

First off, I should let you know that on Christmas Day I did update You Laugh, You Lose with a Christmas theme of course!

As for what I got for Christmas, here’s the list: $50 cash, $75 from Amazon.com, $50 Sam’s Club gift card, $25 Best Buy gift card plus a second $33 card, $10 Burger King, $10 Sonic (a fast food burger place), $20 Blockbuster, Planet Terror on DVD, Candy, and a plain shirt that I’ve already thrown in my closet to be forgotten. I haven’t gotten any gifts from my friends yet, but they don’t have jobs. Cheap bums.

Now for a quick run down of my favorite things in 2007. Best game has to go to BioShock. Portal was awesome too. As for movies, there were a lot of good movies, so it’s hard to say. It’s also hard for me to remember what’s came out this year that I’ve seen. For books now, all I read was all seven Harry Potter books. As for new shows, I like Chuck and Journeyman.

Overall, I’m having a bit of a hard time remembering what happened in my life in 2007. Namely because I didn’t have a blog to write about stuff that’s happened. It was really a different year. This year, I actually travelled far away from home, on my own mind you, to places. I visited my friend Aaron in Washington State and Paul in Kansas City. Both of those trips where thrilling. I also felt like I spent a lot of money on stuff for myself this year. Some of the expensive things (besides the trips) I bought were a Nintendo Wii, and Sony PS3, and recently the complete Buffy DVD collection. I got a new cellphone and my own cellphone bill to go with it. I took a stab at Internet dating. Sadly, I didn’t get a girlfriend, but I made some friends and actually went out on dates. The biggest “what the fuck” moment was getting those 200 boxes, which I still have no idea who they came from. I’m glad that I finished my young adult novel, Too Close to the Ground, this year, which was one of my goals for the year. I can’t remember what other goals I had this year. I want to say get a girlfriend and make a movie, which did not happen. I didn’t really make any movies this year. I filmed some Thanksgiving Bible Shorts for a friend, Robin, and his church this year and that’s it. I did help some friends with their short movie. I did come up with a ton of movie and other project ideas, which now leads me to talk about the next year.

In 2008, things are going to again different. I have one big goal for this year and that’s to make something worth selling. To get there, it’s going to be a long up hill war with many battles. I have some many great ideas, some of them are just so extreme that it will be hard to get that rich to make them work. I really do come up with a lot of ideas, not just story ideas, but stuff like, things to make life more interesting through all of these crazy business ideas I come up with. The latest one: The Mall of the Dead, a mall open from like 7 p.m. to midnight selling indie art stuff. I just come up with all sorts of neat ideas. If I was rich, I wouldn’t be very rich for long because I would end up reinvesting the money into another project just because I want people to have something different in their lives. Speaking of lives, Running Out of Lives, will take shape next year. I’m going to start casting for in February or late January when the weather isn’t so damn evil.

I guess that’s all for my end of the year summery rant.
